Not that long ago I posted a video of Tiff Needell testing the Jaugar F-Type against the Porsche 911 Cabriolet on a track. In that test the 911 walked away with the win. So, at least on the track the Porshce is the better performing car.
Well, Autocar has decided to do the same comparison, although on a public roads instead of on the track.… Read more
For a while the Ferrari FF was actually the most powerful car that you could purchase from Ferrari. Of course not now that the Ferrari F12Berlineta is being delivered to the first purchasers and once the Ferrari LaFerrari is out it will blow them both away. But the “Ugly Duckling” Ferrari FF, while having controversial styling, is surprisingly quite a good performing sports car.… Read more
The standard Mercedes SLS is quite a cat and is a more powerful car than most people will ever need. But, it wasn’t good enough for the folks over at AMG who decided to release a Mercedes SLS AMD Black Series car with a strong 630hp. The car is made to perform on the track with reworked suspension bits and a lot of weight reduction.… Read more
The new Porsche Cayman S looks like it is quite a car. Performance wise it rivals the performance of the base Porsche 911 Carrera and may end up being as fast and possibly a bit faster on the track (partly depending on what track is used). Plus with its mid-engined design it should be much more balanced than the 911 for more predictable handling (although newer 911s have pretty good and predictable handling).… Read more
The Ferrari FF is a very interesting and controversial car. The design is one that you either love or hate with its hatchback design. However, with its all-wheel drive and roomy interior it is a very livable car. In fact it is one of the few Ferraris that you can buy that could actually be used as an everyday car.
The above video shows the Ferrari FF as it is driven on the snow and on some windy roads and reviews the car for what it is.… Read more
The Mazda MX-5 has been the king of the driver’s car from Japan for quite some time now. However, the MX-5 has quite a challenger in the Scion FR-S (or Toyota 86, depending on your market) / Subaru BRZ. The new sports car from Toyota and Subaru looks like it is one of the better affordable driver’s cars in recent years.… Read more
McLaren is preparing to launch the McLaren P1 to succeed the McLaren F1. The new McLaren P1 will have tall shoes to fill when you consider that a car made in the mid 90′s had over 600hp, weighted less than a Mazda Miata and could hit a top speed of 241MPH. The McLaren F1 truly is one of the greatest supercars of all time.… Read more
By all accounts the 2013 Scion FR-s (or Toyota 86 and pretty much the same as the Subaru BRZ) is quite a driver’s sports car. The rear wheel drive car may not be the fastest from 0-60MPH (7.7 seconds), but is more about being a fun car to drive. The slow (by today’s high standards) takeoff time may put some off, but around the track the car looks like it is about as fun as it gets (at least for the price).… Read more
The Jaguar F-Type is a roadster that will be launched in about seven weeks and there will be a lot of interest amongst the automotive press. The car comes in a V8 and V6 with the V8 turning out 495hp and the V6 turning out 380hp. The new roadster will be competing against the likes of the Porsche Boxster and the BMW Z4.… Read more
The 2012 Porsche 911 (992) Carrera S is a great sports car. Having had the pleasure of driving one, I can attest that it is one of the best sports cars that you can currently buy. The car is faster than most people will ever need and yet can handle very well. Beyond this it is a very liveable car for everyday driving and one that will make you want to drive it everyday.… Read more
